6. Raw Material: Cotton

Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) in putty powder to play three roles:
1. Thickening: Increase the viscosity of the lime slurry,avoid material falling under gravity;
2. Keeping moisture: Slows water loss and allows building materials such as lime to have enough time for chemical reactions.
3. Increase construction operability: cellulose has a good lubrication effect, can make mortar more lubricated, increase the smoothing of construction time;
HPMC is involved in the putty powder construction process, HPMC can help the chemical reaction of the mortar but no chemical reaction woth the building materials.
The HPMC's viscosity and the temperature relationship:
HPMC's viscosity is inversely related to temperature, and viscosity increases as temperature decreases, and we usually refer to the viscosity of a product as the result of a 2% aqueous solution detected at a temperature of 20 degrees Celsius. In practice, in areas with large temperature differences in summer and winter, it should be noted that it is recommended to use products with relatively low viscosity in winter, which is more conducive to construction. Otherwise, when the temperature is low cellulose viscosity will increase, batch scraping will be heavy, medium viscosity 75000-100000 is mainly used for putty for abtain good water preservation;
