Potassium Sorbate is the potassium salt of sorbic acid. Its primary use is as a food preservative (EC number 202). Potassium Sorbate is effective in a variety of applications including food, wine, and personal care products.

mainly used as the food preservatives.Potassium Sorbate (also Sorbic acid) can effectively inhibit molds, yeasts and aerobic bacteria activity,to extend the storage time of food, and keep the original flavor of the foods.Also used Cosmetic preservatives,it belongs to organic acids preservatives,the doze amount is generally 0.5%.Although potassium sorbate soluble in water, easy to use, but its 1% aqueous solution ph value is 7 to 8, this will make cosmetic ph value increased.
