Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose E6 (HPMC E6) is a low-viscosity, water-soluble polymer derived from purified cellulose. It belongs to the Hypromellose 2910 family (commonly known as Type E), with approximately 29% methoxyl and 10% hydroxypropyl substitution. As a pharmaceutical excipient, HPMC E6 is known for its fast hydration, excellent film-forming properties, and low viscosity—making it ideal for tablet film coating, binder systems, and immediate-release formulations.
